  • BP Service Station, cnr Federal Highway & Antill Street, Watson, ACT

A three day Club ride along the Lachlan River from source to near the Murrumbidgee River junction. A mixture of sealed and gravel roads. Departure from the BP servo on cnr Federal Highway/Antill Street, Watson.

Outline Plan:

The route will adjust according to progress and weather. So, Day 1 will pick up the source near Gunning, where we follow minor (dirt) roads from Gunning, Dalton, Reids Flat, Lake Wyangala, to Cowra.Thereafter, we'll pretty much follow the Lachlan Valley Way from Cowra to Booligal (with perhaps some deviations to the other bank of the River). After Booligal, we turn off at historic One Tree Pub for Oxley, the last town on the Lachlan prior to its confluence with the Murrumbidgee (in a big swamp). Having made the end of the River, return via Hay, Carrathool, Griffith & the Burley Griffin Way.
