A ride to Cobar is planned for the weekend of 17-18 November 2012, for the hard riding, iron-butted, riders who like to haul serious ass.

Ride distance is around the 640 km mark, so departure is planned for 0800 from the Hall lay-by, on the Barton Highway.

Intended route is via Yass-Harden-Temora-West Wyalong-Lake Cargelligo-Mount Hope-Cobar.

Stops enroute at Temora (coffee & fuel) & Lake Cargelligo (lunch and/or fuel) [alt lunch at Mount Hope pub]. Note: Some 30 kms of good dirt road between Lake Cargelligo and Mount Hope.

Cobar has an interesting mining history, worth a brief look time permitting on arrival.

Accommodation: Make your own arrangements, but Cobar has a range of pub, motel and an excellent caravan/camping park.
