Why not join the Club for a back roads day ride to lunch at the Tumblong Tavern, Tumblong? If you’d prefer a shorter ride, then why not join the first leg of the ride through to Harden-Murrumburrah for coffee (135 km)?

Return: each to their own and to decide on the day with options including:

• via Hume Hwy (160km):   Google Maps
• via Hume Hwy to Jugiong, Jugiong Rd and Burley Griffin Way (200 km):  Google Maps
• via Wantabagery, Junee, Cootamundra, Harden and Burley Griffin Way (263km):   Google Maps

Approximately 425-530 km return (depending on return route) on sealed main and secondary roads. Expect some road surfaces to be damaged. Break/stop if needed on the return leg to be decided on the day.

Fuel: Available in Murrumburrah and Gundagai.

GS Riders: Those keen to detour for fun on gravel or dirt are more than welcome to join en route, or at the pub. The 30km Tarrabandra Rd loop off Brungle Rd is always a good ride when dry (25km of dirt):  Google Maps

Meeting Point: Meet fuelled and ready to go at Ampol/Caltex Foodary (Curran  Drive, Gold Creek (Nicholls)) for a prompt 08:20 departure.

Register if you're interested in coming so I can let the pub know likely numbers for lunch. Please email rides@bmwmcc.au if you plan to meet the group on the way, or at the pub, or head elsewhere after coffee in Harden-Murrumburrah.

For those joining the ride along the way, or making their own way to the pub, proposed meeting points (with best guess times) are:

• Ampol/Caltex Foodary, Gold Creek (Nicholls) - leaving 08:20
• Murrumbateman Country Inn – arriving 8:45 (not stopping)
• Barnes Store Emporium Cafe (Harden-Murrumburrah) - arriving 10:00 and leaving by 10:45
• Coolac Rest  Area (Hume Hwy) - arriving 11.40, leaving 11:45
• Tumblong Tavern (87 Tumblong Rd, Tumblong) – arriving 12:40 (lunch booking @12:45).
