The BMWTCNSW (motorcycle) and BMWDCNSW (car) are jointly hosting the Zündschlüssel Rally in support of the the BMW Clubs International Conference to be held in Melbourne 17-21 Oct 15.
The rally is open to any BMW motorcycle that has a zündschlüssel (or Bakelite) ignition key and generally manufactured between c1930 and early 1970's. You will need to be a member of BMW Clubs Australia Member Club to register and attend the rally. In keeping with the age of the motorcycles, participants will travel between ~200 and 300km each day via the Princess Highway with accompanying support and backup vehicles. Participants will be responsible for their own costs.
The BMWDCNSW will support the event with a display of historic 3 Series BMW's to coincide with BMW's 2015 model release in Sydney and an in-parallel touring drive to Melbourne jointly finishing at BMW Group Australia Mulgrave offices on Friday for a BBQ lunch. Check the flyer here.
TBC, but the motorcycles & riders will also have the opportunity to particpate in a show lap on the Phillip Island Circuit in support of the MotoGP on Sunday 18 October 2105.
UPDATE
A few members will be joining / watching the run between Narooma and Mallacoota on Wed, 14th. Plan is to meet at the Hume servo for an 8:00am start, ride to Bega via Cooma and head up the coast. We will run into the zündschlüssel group on the Pacific Hwy somewhere north of Bega. We will follow this group south and then return home via Brown Mtn and Cooma.
