    From Jeanette Hahn,

For those members who remember him, I have received the sad news that Bob Rumsey died in a bushwalking accident in Tasmania on 22nd March.

His memorial will take place on Tuesday morning 14/4/15 and if any club members wish to attend could they please contact Bob's partner Helen Hill on 62925707.

Bob was a foundation member of the ACTBMWMCC and was it's first Touring Secretary.  He wrote many of the first articles for the first year of the newsletter and this continued on.  He was very active in the club for most of it's history and though he has attended some events in the past few years he had to stop riding several years ago due to vision problems.

    Vale Bob Rumsey

Martin, Hos and Phil rode to Wagga Wagga and had a Coffee with me at my house before we headed off through Mangoplah, Culcairn, Albury then the Boring Highway (sorry I meant the Hume Highway to Wandong the other side of Broadford.
We stepped back into the twilight zone and stayed at the Australiana Motel at Wandong. The motel was obviously someones dream that has never been realised and it has sat unfinished for a long time. Quite eerie, but once you settle in the humour and hospitality of the 2 elderly women and John the owner who traipses around in his track suit pants and "flano" shirt  well and truly embraces you. John would have been out for the day on his excavators which are parked in the grounds of the motel grounds.
The meals and bar were very friendly and good fun. Not 5 star but what do you expect for $100 a night. We will go back!
As for the Bike Bonanza. If you have not been, treat yourself to a great weekend and go next year. Good fun, masses of interesting riders and their bikes. Short Circuit track, Moto Cross Track, Trials and Road Race track. A real delight to attend. I caught up with a mate from Wagga who had 2 MacIntosh Suzukis, a TZ350, an RG500 a VFR 750 and 2 TZ750s there. John Woodly and Bob Rosenthal were on hand to help ride them.
Lots of cheap older bikes about also with average owners and riders having a great time. I need to find a cheap old bike to have a go next year I reckon.
We headed back home on Monday morning with Hos heading for Melbourne to see his mum and myself, Brian and Martin riding along the boring highway and separating at Albury to head home.

See Club Ride Photos'" for a few pictures of the trip.

A few members have reported their ABS playing up or not working.  The BMW fix is a replacement ABS module at US$2100 (MaxBMW).  Here is a link to one reported fix http://advwisdom.hogranch.com/Wisdom/BMW ABS II D&A.pdf and requires a thin walled 22mm socket.  I'll keep you posted on the success or otherwise of this fix.

Seven members made the ride to CSIRO Radio Telescope at Parkes under clear blue and sunny skies and for our trouble (+37oC) received a closed to the public guided tour of the telescope including around, inside and up to the equipment levels.  The tour took 2.5 hours and provided a great insight into the telescopes construction, over 50 years operation and role in the movie 'The Dish'.  Keep an eye out for the pictures.
